“Mad Hatters”
Annual Ribbon Parade

Cornwall Park (off Grand Drive), Royal Oak. Auckland.
10.30a.m. - 4.30p.m.

Come along for a fun day, the Ribbon Parade will be judged by age group. No champions are allowed in the Ribbon Parade, so all pets are encouraged to give it a go, however inexperienced their human handlers may be. The Champions can kick up the turf in the “Best Champion” class. Other breeds who are members are eligible to go in the Fun Stakes too.

Schedule of Events

10.00a.m. Arrivals & Entries
10.30 Demonstration of Show Etiquette
10.45 Ribbon Parade
12.00 approx Lunch Break
Pipe Band
1.00 Fun Stakes
Mad Hat Parade
3.00 approx Wine, Cheese, Soft Drink and Juice provided .

 

Club will provide a sausage sizzle and cold drinks, please bring a short lead, pooh bags and water for your dogs. There is some tree shelter but bring an umbrella if you have one and something to sit on.

There will be a prize for the Best Hat (Adult), Best Hat (Child) and Best Canine Hat! $5.00 entry fee for the day (Ribbon Parade and Fun Stakes)

Calling all Westies who live in the Gisborne area
There will be a Westie walk on the first Sunday of the month
at Nelson Park (near Enterprise Pool).
This is a leash free park with great walks along the tree lined river bank.
In winter 9.30am until 10.30am with coffee at
Villagio after for those free to enjoy

Calling all Westies who live from Auckland to Hamilton area
There is a Fish and Chip walk at Kaiaua last Sunday of every
second month commencing 26th April 2009.

Meet at 11.30am.  The best fish and chips in NZ.  We place our order before
the walk, then give the kids a walk along the front of the beach.  Don't
forget water and pooper scooper bags.  This is a very informal get together
for all pets and owners and a fun day out.

Calling all Westies in the Christchurch area
Meet at 11.45am - walk starts promptly at 12 noon
The last Sunday in every month
March: The Groynes Dog Park
April: AMP Walk - Drive down Halswell Rd (from Hillmorton) Turn right into Templetons Rd .
Drive to the end, park by the footbridge for the meeting place.

May: Halswell Quarry (back carpark, as far as you can drive)
June: Hagley Park, entrance of Riccarton Ave, by the tennis courts.
July: Hagley Park, entrance of Riccarton Ave, by the tennis courts
August; Avonhead Park - Drive down Hawthornden Rd,(next to Avonhead cemetery/kindergarten) and
 meet at the clubroom at the end of the drive in.
September: Estuary walk, South Brighton, off Beaty street
October: Sumner beach, meeting place, Cave Rock, dogs must be on their leashes
at all times.
November; Bottle Lake Forest Park, meeting place is Waitakere Drive in
Parklands (drive straight in and head for the information centre)
December:  No walk organised
January: Governors Bay, Allandale - Just past Governors Bay,turn right at the bottom of the hill into a
 picnic and walk area.
February: The Groynes Dog Park
March: Spencerpark (drive in and head towards the playground.)
